13.08.2021

The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) received generous support and donations from Lee Hysan Foundation (LHF), Honorary Patron of The EdUHK Foundation, in the past to nurture outstanding and caring educators, facilitate educational research, development and innovation as well as enhance teaching resources. The Alumni Affairs and Development Office recently invited Ms Cecilia Ho Chung-chee (President of LHF), Mr Clifford Chow (Vice President of LHF) and its representatives to visit EdUHK. They met with Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-leung (President), Professor John Lee Chi-kin (Vice President (Academic) and Provost) and Mrs Patricia Lau (Director of Alumni Affairs and Development and Secretary-General of The EdUHK Foundation).

The LHF team visited the Centre for Psychosocial Health (CPH) where Dr Hou Wai-kai, Director of CPH, provided a summary of the centre’s current research and an update on the project funded by LHF. Other academic staff from EdUHK, including Professor Kerry Lee (Head of Department of Early Childhood Education (ECE)), Dr Derwin Chan King-chung (Associate Head of ECE), Professor Kevin Chung Kien-hoa (Director of Centre for Child and Family Science (CCFS)), Dr Ian Lam Chun-bun (Co-Director of CCFS), Professor Kenneth Sin Kuen-fung (Director of Centre for Special Educational Needs and Inclusive Education), and Professor Leung Chi-hung (Co-Director of Integrated Centre for Wellbeing), briefed the work and future plans of early childhood education, inclusive and special needs education, children development and support to families.

This visit provides an excellent opportunity for LHF to gain a deeper understanding of EdUHK’s vision and the latest development in different areas. We look forward to exploring further collaborations with LHF.
