The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) received donations from Dr David Ng Tze-kin, Autism Hong Kong, AHK Education Consultants Limited and BrainX Company Limited (BrainX), who generously provided a total amount of HK$630,000.
The cheque presentation ceremony on 19 September 2022 was attended by Dr David Ng, Chairman of AHK Education Consultants Limited Mr Francis Yu, Representatives of Autism Hong Kong Mr Lee Sai-ho and Ms Anita Yeung, Directors of BrainX Ms Eileen Cheung and Mr Patrick Chan, and EdUHK staff. Professor Kenneth Sin Kuen-fung, Director of the Centre for Special Educational Needs and Inclusive Education (CSENIE), welcomed the donors and extended sincere gratitude for their charitable support.
The funds will support CSENIE to conduct in-depth examinations in the following three areas: cognitive function training for pre-school kids, technology of artificial intelligence and internet of things enhanced online platform for supporting students with autism spectrum disorder, and neurocognitive training for students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. “The full donation amount has been submitted for the application of the Research Matching Grant Scheme from the University Grants Committee, as we hope to maximise the impact of the donors’ contribution to benefit the education sector through our services and research,” said Professor Sin.
