The Ceremony of the Best Teacher of the Elders Award Scheme 2018-19, organised by the Elderly Academy of The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) and The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong, was successfully held on 8 July 2019. The event was supported by a donation from the Rural Training College Alumni Association (the Association), an honorary advisor of The EdUHK Foundation. Dr Kwong Kai-to, MH, Chairman of the Association, together with Dr Leong Che-hung, GBM, JP, former Chairman of the Elderly Commission and Founding Chairman of the Committee on Elder Academy Development Foundation, and Mr Chan How-chi, MH, Chairman of the Committee on Elder Academy Development Foundation, officiated at the Ceremony. The winners shared their observations, experiences, difficulties encountered and solutions.

The purpose of the “Best Teacher of the Elders Award” is to promote “Third-age education” to the government, the education sector, the social welfare sector and the public, and at the same time invite more people to acknowledge the contributions made by teachers to senior education so as to applaud their enthusiasm in teaching.
